"Emergency Cardiology and Cardiovascular Risks" journal was established in 2017, which was the realization of the idea of Professor Natalia Pavlovna Mitkovskaya and the staff of the Department of Cardiology and Internal Diseases together with Belarusian State Medical University in strengthening international cooperation and promoting achievements of medical science. The history of the Department of Cardiology and Internal Medicine began on August 27, 2008, when the Decree on its establishment was signed. The need to improve medical education system with extending knowledge of a modern doctor in the field of therapy, understanding the need to form the ability of a university graduate to respond quickly and professionally in emergency situations, and thereby save lives, to help a student – and a future colleague – master modern research methods served as the basis for the decision to establish the Department. In the multifaceted professional activity of the Department of Cardiology and Internal Diseases, the possibilities of innovative technologies aimed at preventing the progression of cardiovascular pathology are widely used. The staff of the Department organized and conducted many national and city scientific and practical conferences with international participation, published collections of scientific papers by the university staff, colleagues from CIS and other foreign countries.
