The presented requirements for the design of scientific articles are based on the "Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals" recommended byf the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (the official version is available on the website www.ICMJE.org ).
I. Recommendations to the author before submitting the article
Articles that meet the following criteria may be submitted for review:
- the article was not previously published in another journal;
- the article is not under review in another journal;
- all co-authors agree with the publication of the current version of the article;
- The article meets the basic requirements for publication in the Journal of «Emergency Cardiology and Cardiovascular Risks».
Articles in violation of the "Rules and norms of humane treatment of biological research objects" are not accepted for publication.
The editorial board of the journal "Emergency Cardiology and Cardiovascular Risks" accepts the following types of articles: original scientific publications, scientific reviews, interesting clinical cases, lectures.
When preparing original articles and other materials, the authors are recommended to use the following checklists and schemes developed by international organizations in the field of healthcare (EQUATOR, Enhancing the Quality and Transparency of Health Research).
Preparation of an article reflecting the results of randomized clinical trials – "A checklist of information that should be included in the report on the CONSORT 2010 randomized trial."
Preparation of an article reflecting the results of empirical research – " Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) Statement: a guide to reporting on observational studies."
When preparing systematic reviews – "PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)".
When preparing a description of clinical cases – "The CARE Guidelines: Consensus-based Clinical Case Reporting Guideline Development".
When preparing articles reflecting the results of qualitative research – "SRQR (Standards for reporting qualitative research)".
When preparing articles reflecting the results of predictive research – STARD 2015: An Updated List of Essential Items for Reporting Diagnostic Accuracy Studies.
Before submitting an article for review, make sure that the file(s) contains all the necessary information in Russian and English, the sources of information are indicated in the figures and tables, and all citations are correct.
II. Submission of the article
One copy of the manuscript and signed accompanying documents (directions of the institution with the visa of the head, a cover letter) are sent to the editorial office by mail. It is mandatory to send the electronic version of the article, graphic materials and digital copies (scans) of the accompanying documents to the journal's e-mail address. emcardio@bsmu.by.
Articles are accepted by the editorial board if there is a referral from the institution and a visa from the Head (an example of a referral letter)
When sending a manuscript of an article to the editorial office of the journal, a cover letter from the authors is attached to the latter, which should reflect the following points a sample of a cover letter design):
- initials and surnames of the authors;
- title of the article;
- information that the article has not been previously published, as well as not submitted to another journal for review and publication;
- the authors' obligation is that, in case the article is accepted for publication, they will grant copyright to the publisher;
- confirmation that the authors are familiar with the agreement and give their consent to sign the specified agreement to one of the authors chosen from among them;

III. Article formatting requirements
The article must be created using a Microsoft Word text editor of any version and have the following formatting:
The margin width on the left/top/bottom/right is 3 cm/2.5cm/2.5cm/1 cm.
Font – Times New Roman, kegel – 12.
The line spacing is 1.5.
The paragraph indentation is 1.25 cm.
The font color is black.
The orientation is bookish.
Hyphenation – there are no hyphenations.
The alignment is in the "width" parameter.
Headings and subheadings begin on a new line and are typed in bold with left alignment, with no dot at the end of the headline. The paragraph indentation before the headings is 1.25 cm. No other formatting is allowed in the text of the article.
IV. Article structure
The article should have the following structure:
- Universal Decimal Classification Index (UDC).
- Initials and surnames of the authors.
- The title of the article.
- The full name of the institutions where the authors work, indicating the city and country (Arabic numerals indicate the correspondence of the institutions).
- Abstract (author's summary) in Russian (the volume should be from 1800 to 2500 characters with spaces for original research, at least 1000 characters for review articles and descriptions clinical cases) should be a short summary of a large volume of scientific work. It can be published independently, in isolation from the main text; therefore, it should be understandable without referring to the publication itself. Structurally, it is advisable to repeat the sections of the article (for the original scientific publication: purpose, methods, results and conclusion). The text of the abstract should be concise and clear, free from secondary information, unnecessary introductory words, and general formulations. The abstract should not contain references to literature. Abbreviations or symbols other than the generally accepted ones are not used. The results of the work are described very accurately and informatively. The main theoretical and experimental results, actual data, discovered relationships and patterns are presented. At the same time, preference is given to new results and data of long-term significance, important discoveries, conclusions that refute existing theories, as well as data that, in the author's opinion, are of practical importance. Conclusions can be accompanied by recommendations, assessments, suggestions, and hypotheses described in the article.
- Keywords – a set of words reflecting the content of the text in terms of the object, scientific branch and research methods; the recommended number of keywords is 5-10.
- Then the meta-text data (the initials and surnames of the authors, the title of the article, the full name of the institutions in which the authors work, indicating the city and country- superscript Arabic numerals indicate the correspondence of institutions, abstract, keywords) are provided in English. The English abstract must be original (it should not be a literal translation of the Russian-language abstract). The full name of the author/s should match the passport or be transliterated in the BSI system (British Standard Institute, UK).
- The main text of the article. The structure of the full text may vary depending on the type of manuscript. The volume of original research and clinical cases, including figures, tables, index of literature and summaries, should not exceed 30 thousand characters with spaces, reviews and lectures – 45 thousand characters with spaces. Abbreviations of words are not allowed, except for generally accepted abbreviations of chemical and mathematical quantities, measures, and terms. The articles should use the SI system of units.
8.1 Original scientific publications contain the results of original research.
- introduction (no more than 2 pages). It should disclose the relevance of the problem that has become the subject of research, including its scale (prevalence, incidence, etc.), indirect effects (social, economic), as well as identify solved and unresolved aspects of the problem by analyzing previously published data.;
- the purpose of the study;
- methods (the section should contain information about the design of the study, its duration, the method of evaluating the results of the study, testing the hypothesis of the study with a description of statistical methods and a package for processing the results);
- Results (a detailed description of the content and results of the study; if necessary, this section can be divided into subsections);
- Discussion (the results obtained should be discussed in terms of novelty and compared with known data);
- Conclusion (must be presented in a single text);
- source of financing 1 (it is necessary to specify the source of financing of the carried out work);
- conflict of interest 2 (presence of obvious and potential conflicts of interest, that is, conditions and facts that may affect the results of the study or their interpretation);
- Acknowledgment3.
8.2 Scientific review
The purpose of a review publication should be to discuss the collected material and present the author's new view on previously described phenomena, rethink and search for new approaches to their interpretation, rather than simply listing the facts and stating the current state of the problem.
Mandatory parts of the review publication:

- acknowledgements 3.
1 - it is necessary to provide information in Russian (Belarusian) and English about the sources of sponsorship in the form of grants, equipment, medicines.
2 - A "conflict of interest" is a condition in which people have conflicting or competing interests that can influence editorial decision-making. Conflicts of interest may be potential or perceived, as well as real ones. Objectivity can be influenced by personal, political, financial, scientific, or religious factors. The author is obliged to notify the editor of a real or potential conflict of interest by including information about the conflict of interest in the relevant section of the article. If there is no conflict of interest, the author should also inform about it. Sample wording: "The team of authors declares that there is no conflict of interest."
3 - The "Acknowledgements" section contains acknowledgements to people who participated in the work on the article, but are not its authors. Participation in the work on the article implies: recommendations for improving research, providing space for research, departmental control, obtaining financial support, single types of analysis, providing reagents / patients / animals / other materials for research.
- The list of sources used (for the original article - no more than 25, for scientific reviews – no more than 50 sources, respectively) in Russian (Belarusian) is drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus (GOST 7.1-2003). The cited literature is given in a general list as it is mentioned, references in the text are given in ordinal number in square brackets (e.g., [1]); references to not published works are not allowed).
- Then there is a list of cited sources in the Roman alphabet ("References" - according to the Harvard standard (Harvard reference system)) with the following structure: authors (transliteration), title of the article in transliterated version [translation of the title of the article into English in square brackets], name of the Russian-language source (transliteration) [translation of the name of the source into English], output data with notation in English. Transliteration of Russian-language names is performed according to the BSI standards.

V. Information about authors
The section should contain the following information about authors in Russian (Belarusian) and English:
- last name, first name, patronymic; academic degree, title and position of each of the co-authors;
- the full postal address of the institution and the e-mail (e-mail) of each author;
- a mobile phone (not specified in the journal) for contacting one of the authors – the responsible person – if necessary, to make edits to the article).
VI. Tables
All tables should have a numbered title and clearly marked columns that are easy and understandable to read. The data in the table should correspond to the numbers in the text, but should not duplicate the information provided in it. References to tables in the text are required. Tables are numbered with Arabic numerals in the order of their sequence in the text. If there is only one table in the text, it is not numbered. The names of the tables and their captions, as well as the notes, must be duplicated in English. The table header includes the ordinal number of the table and its name.
Aligns to the left: "Table 1. Scale of risk factors" No dot is placed after the table heading. The English translation of the table title, the captions in the table and the note to it should be placed immediately under the Russian (Belarusian) version. The note to the table is designed in the same font and size as the main text (font – Times New Roman, kegel – 12), is aligned in width, is located under the table and should contain a decoding of the abbreviations used and other information necessary for the interpretation of the data presented in the table.
VII. Drawings
Each drawing must be accompanied by a numbered caption. The names of figures and diagrams and their captions must also be duplicated in English. References to figures in the text are required. The figures are numbered in Arabic numerals according to the order in the text. If there is only one drawing in the text, it is not numbered. The caption includes the serial number of the drawing and its name.
Aligned in the center: "Figure 1. Normal electrocardiogram." Don't put a dot after the caption. The English translation of the caption and the captions to the drawings should be placed immediately under the Russian (Belarusian) version. The note to the drawing should be drawn up in the same font and size as the main text (font – Times New Roman, size – 12), aligned in width, located under the caption and should contain a transcription of the abbreviations used and other information necessary for the interpretation of the data presented in the figure. Illustrations (graphs, diagrams, diagrams, drawings) drawn using MS Office tools should be contrasting and clear. The illustrations must be made in a separate file and saved as an image (in * format.jpeg, *.bmp, *.gif), and then placed in the manuscript file as a fixed image. It is unacceptable to apply any elements using MS WORD on top of the picture inserted into the manuscript file (arrows, signatures) due to the high risk of their loss at the stages of editing and layout.
Photographs, screen prints (screenshots), and other uncripted illustrations must not only be inserted into the text of the manuscript, but also uploaded separately as * format files.jpeg, *.bmp, *.gif (*.doc and *.docx - if additional markings are applied to the image). The image resolution must be >300 dpi. Image files must be given a name corresponding to the image number in the text. In the description of the file, a caption should be provided separately, which should correspond to the name of the photo placed in the text.
